It’s boring, and visitors decide within seconds that there isn’t really any point for them to stay on it. Some would suggest making your website more engaging, but that doesn’t actually mean anything. It’s too general, and details matter.
If there’s one unforgivable sin as a business owner, it’s wasting your customers’ time. When time is wasting, people get bored. Bored website visitors go and find something to make them not bored. So, it’s a really good idea to make your website… not boring. Give them something valuable, right from the start, and they’ll stick around to see what else you have to say.
People like to browse the web on their little computers they call phones, so I probably shouldn’t even have to make this point. Still, we’re 10 (or so) years into this whole smart-phone era, and the same old problem still exists. Websites load like sludge on those all-too-easily swipeable screens, and layouts jumble around like a Jenga tower assembled by drunkards. Let’s get with the program, shall we?
That’s the amount of time the average visitor takes to evaluate your website design. From a realistic standpoint, most websites don’t make a good first impression. However, yours don’t have to one of them. The sharp, engaging, and instantly valuable website I build for you will make your visitors happy to use it. Remember, if something makes people happy, they usually keep doing it for a few minutes.
So, I have a lot of bright ideas, but why would you even believe me? Trust me, I’m a little too open sometimes, and I’ve had to prove my ideas with solid data many times. Now, I get ahead of the game with my clients. I’ll set up so many Google Analytics goals, the only thing we won’t know about how people are using your website is whether or not they made a purchase. I’m joking, I’ll measure that too.
To be perfectly honest, I might do this before we even talk. Either way, it’s a good idea to learn what you like about what you have, and what you’re missing. Keep the good, improve the bad: It’s a solid place to start
Your competition might be ahead, but that’s what we want. That way, we can learn what they are doing right and find ways to bring those ideas into your design. Or, maybe you strongly dislike what they’re doing, and we can use what doesn’t work to show us what will.
Most designers take weeks to get you a draft design. I start designing during our first conversation. It might distract me a little bit when we’re talking, but it moves the timeline along quite a bit. 1 week, 2 week, and 52 week timelines are available.
Web design, or web development. Which do you need? It doesn’t matter, I have you covered. I can do all the coding and dry work necessary to make everything look and function the way you want. Funky, weird shopping cart? Done. Crazy memberships and subscriptions? No Problem. Other stuff? Sure.
I keep working until you’re happy, or until the project is complete, whichever comes first. I’m joking, of course. After a few important rounds of revisions and adjustments, I’ll deliver your shiny new website, and do everything needed to make sure it lives happily for at least 5 years.
I can help your business, no matter your budget.
